From Long Runs to The Rolling Oat

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to build something of my own. Something meaningful. Something rooted in passion. Something that reflected the way I live my life and the things that I care deeply about.

I have always loved baking, creating recipes, and learning about foods that make me feel good. Over the years, I developed a strong passion for nutrition and the role proper fueling plays in movement, performance and recovery. I became drawn to foods that nourish the body and support an active lifestyle and somewhere along the way, I became completely obsessed with oats.

Anything oat- based, whether it be oatmeal or my personal favorite, overnight oats has become my go-to fuel food. Whether it’s before a run, after a workout, during marathon training, or even on slower recovery days. It is one of those foods that consistently makes me feel good. They sit well in my stomach, doesn’t feel heavy, and gives me the energy I need. It is simple, grounding and comforting all at the same time. Plus, it happens to make the perfect base for my favorite topping: peanut butter. Overtime, oats became more than just food to me. They became part of my routine, my recovery, my lifestyle, and eventually, the inspiration behind this entire business.

Entrepreneurship has always been part of my life. I have been surrounded by some badass, inspiring people who took chances on themselves and built something meaningful from the ground up. My auntie created her own candle company. My grandma, my icon, was an absolute force, running her own businesses with strength, resilience and some badass confidence. Then there is my sister, who inspires me endlessly. Watching her build an incredibly successful IV therapy business while also raising two kids and balancing another full-time job. She makes difficult things look possible. Watching these women pursue what they loved inspired me more than they probably realize. Slowly, the vision for The Rolling Oat started to take shape.

The idea really came from spending years in endurance world and noticing a gap in access to quick, nourish foods after crossing the finish line. There have been many times after finishing a race where the easiest food options available weren’t necessarily the kinds of food I wanted to refuel my body with after pushing it to it limits. For me, the experience of a race doesn’t end when you cross the finish line. It’s staying after a race and soaking it in all in, the atmosphere, the connection with people, the celebration of the effort. I often found myself leaving early in search of food that would nourish my body, support my recovery and make me feel good and not just grabbing the banana handed out at the finish line.

So, I thought:

Why not bring that food to the race? Why not create something around the foods that I love and fuel me the most? Naturally, that brought me to oats. Real ingredients, balanced nutrient, comforting foods that supports performance and recovery. Simple.

The vision for The Rolling Oat keeps evolving and growing. At its core, it has always been about creating something that helps people feel nourished, supported, energized and connected.

Not just for runners. Not just for athletes. But for anyone looking for really food, good coffee and a moment to slow down for a second.

The Rolling Oat was built from early mornings, long runs, recovery meals, coffee-fuelled ideas and the genuine love for movement, nourishment and community.

There is a lot of fear that comes with creating something of your own. Fear of failure. Fear of uncertainty. Fear of stepping away from what’s comfortable. But “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.” If you never push through fear, you stay still. That is what The Rolling Oat represents to me, the willingness to take a chance on something meaningful, trusting the process, and building a life that feels aligned with who I truly am.
